Nostalgic(2)

Mom and Dad’s backdrop in this picture is Christchurch Cathedral (Christchurch, New Zealand).  This was taken about this time in 1993 – exactly 2 decades ago, how time flies!  Feeling nostalgic remembering wonderful memories  :)

This beautiful Christchurch Cathedral was badly hit in last year’s (2012) magnitude-6.1 earthquake and had since been demolished. This piece of news must have been a heart-breaking one for many people as the church after all, had served the people in the area for so long.  The church is apparently engaged in an on-going court battle fighting to have the Cathedral “saved”; had put forward three proposals: 1.to restore the original structure, 2. rebuild it in a traditional theme, or 3. replace it with a modern design.  I’d vote for proposal 1 and 2

Those who have visited this place, I’m sure, are equally sentimental hearing this news.
